There’s a certain kind of charm to Larchmont that unfolds best on foot. Whether you're a longtime local or just exploring the neighborhood, a slow Sunday spent walking through town reminds you why it’s so special. Here’s how I’d spend a perfect, walkable day in Larchmont.
Morning
Start with Coffee: Sunshine Coffee Roasters
The day begins at Sunshine. It’s cozy, local, and their cold brew has a serious kick. I usually grab mine to go and enjoy it while strolling toward breakfast.
Breakfast Stop: Stanz Café
Next stop is Stanz. This beloved café has been in business for decades and has a menu full of gems. For breakfast I’d have my favorite: English muffin with goat cheese, avocado and poached eggs.
Saturday Bonus: Larchmont Farmers Market
If it’s a Saturday, swing by the Farmers Market. Tons of local produce, fresh flowers, homemade pastries, and of course, Dr Pickle.
Midday
Park Stop: Turtle Park
If you’re with kids, Turtle Park is a great pause. Shaded benches, an amazing playground and in the heart of the village.
Light Lunch: Root2Rise
For lunch, Root2Rise is the perfect balance of healthy and satisfying. All vegan, gluten free and plant based. I suggest their Dan Dan Noodles which are warm, savory, and packed with flavor. They also have an amazing juice bar!
Shopping: Palmer and Purchase
After lunch, I’d spend a few hours shopping. Palmer and Purchase is a must for women’s clothes. Abbey has the chicest collection. Peridot for fine jewelry- Dawn only curates from the best designers like Celine Daoust or Caroline Ellen, to name a few.. Create a wishlist while you’re there! Stephanie’s Kloset has the coolest kids clothes and gadgets. She has everything trending.
Afternoon to Early Evening
Scenic Spot: Manor Park
Manor Park is heaven on earth. The water views and beautiful breeze offer a peaceful reset. Bring a book, sit in a shaded gazebo and watch the boats sail by.
Sweet Treat or Coffee Round Two: The Dressed Pretzel
Mid-afternoon calls for a little indulgence. The Dressed Pretzel is one of our beloved small businesses with the most delicious dipped pretzels and fun seasonal treats that are impossible to resist.
Dinner: Lusardi’s
Cap off the day with dinner at Lusardi’s. It’s a local favorite for a reason. The chicken parmigiana hits every time and I always start with crispy artichokes. They treat everyone like family, even if it’s your first time visiting.
Whether you’ve lived here for years or are just getting to know the neighborhood, Larchmont can fill your day with a bit of everything. It’s walkable, welcoming, and full of little discoveries that remind you why living here is so worth it.
Would love to hear about your favorite local spots. I’m always exploring.
